Nagravison has deployed its NAGRA Venturi anti-piracy platform to protect Formula 1 broadcasts for RTL Croatia and Pro Plus Slovenia during the 2026 season.
The system combines real-time piracy monitoring with network-level forensic watermarking, allowing the broadcasters to identify and trace unauthorised redistribution of live sports content while maintaining existing delivery workflows.
Delivered in collaboration with video technology company Ateme, the deployment was completed within a month and integrates with the broadcasters’ existing infrastructure.
Daniel Cof, CTO of Pro Plus, said the deployment gives the company greater visibility into the sources of illegal redistribution without requiring significant operational changes. “Formula 1 is one of the most valuable properties in our portfolio, so protecting the way it reaches our viewers is a business priority, not merely a technical one. The solution integrates seamlessly into our existing delivery workflows, allowing our teams to maintain the same setup while gaining much greater visibility into the sources of unauthorised redistribution, and enabling us to act more quickly.”
Morten Solbakken, executive vice-president and chief operating officer at Nagravision, said live sports piracy was becoming increasingly sophisticated and AI-driven, making real-time content protection essential for rights holders and broadcasters.
NAGRA Venturi combines AI-powered piracy monitoring, analytics and enforcement through Nagravision’s NEXUS anti-piracy centre, alongside device security and forensic watermarking designed to identify the source of leaked streams. The company says the platform is backed by more than 30 years of global piracy intelligence.
