Telefónica has reached a new agreement with DAZN that will enable Movistar Plus+ to continue offering every LaLiga match in Spain for a further five seasons.

The agreement covers the 2027/28 to 2031/32 seasons and gives Telefónica the right to distribute the five LaLiga EA Sports matches per matchday held by DAZN. According to La Razón, Telefónica will pay an average of €330 million per season, or around €1.65 billion over the five-year period.

The deal is non-exclusive, meaning DAZN will continue to offer its allocation of matches directly to its own customers.

Telefónica had already secured the other half of the domestic rights directly from LaLiga. Combining those rights with the new DAZN agreement means Movistar customers will continue to have access to all 10 matches from each round of the Spanish top flight.

The arrangement effectively extends the model used during the current rights cycle, under which LaLiga’s rights are divided between Telefónica and DAZN but Movistar aggregates both sets of matches within its television packages.

Football remains a central element of Telefónica’s premium television strategy. The operator has also secured UEFA Champions League rights through to 2031, giving Movistar long-term access to Spain’s two most important premium club football properties.

Orange, which also currently offers the complete LaLiga schedule through agreements with Telefónica and DAZN, has arrangements covering the 2026/27 season but has yet to secure distribution agreements for the new rights cycle beginning in 2027/28.
