CNN Creators opens permanent Doha studio

CNN has opened a new production facility in Doha for CNN Creators, its multiplatform programme launched last year in partnership with Media City Qatar.

The new facility replaces the temporary studio used by CNN Creators since its launch in October 2025 and combines a studio, newsroom and production centre within a single open-plan space.

CNN says the facility has been designed specifically for production across linear television, streaming and social platforms. Multiple remotely operated cameras are suspended from ceiling tracks, providing 360-degree movement around the studio, while the control room can produce simultaneously in vertical and horizontal formats.

The configuration means the facility can be used for both live streaming and conventional linear broadcasts, reflecting CNN’s aim of developing production techniques that work across different platforms rather than adapting conventional television output for social media.

“CNN Creators is unlike any programming initiative CNN has ever produced and we wanted to create a fluid space that would allow the team complete flexibility to experiment and innovate,” said Meara Erdozain, SVP of International Programming at CNN.

Andrew Potter, Executive Producer of CNN Creators, said the facility would allow the programme to experiment further with presentation techniques and with showing “the evolution of a story from start to finish”.

CNN Creators covers technology, culture and social trends and has also contributed to CNN’s international news coverage. Recent subjects have ranged from artificial intelligence and smart glasses to the use of peptides and the impact of digital technology.

The programme airs on CNN International on Thursdays at 11.30 ET, with additional material distributed across CNN’s digital and social platforms.
