Liberty Global has named the leadership team for its newly established Ziggo Group as the company prepares for a planned listing on Euronext Amsterdam in mid-2027.
The new group brings together Liberty Global’s interests in VodafoneZiggo in the Netherlands and Telenet in Belgium and Luxembourg, creating a Benelux connectivity business with around 13 million customers and €6.6 billion in revenue.
Former Sky executive Stephen van Rooyen will lead Ziggo Group while continuing as CEO of VodafoneZiggo. John Porter remains CEO of Telenet and Chairman of network company Wyre. The existing Telenet and VodafoneZiggo leadership teams will retain responsibility for their respective customers, markets and operational performance.
Jany Fruytier, whose appointment was previously announced, becomes CFO of both Ziggo Group and VodafoneZiggo. Luk Bruynseels has been appointed Chief Technology & Information Officer across the two companies.
Other appointments include Soraya Loerts as Chief People Officer, Henry Harris as Chief Legal Officer and Sanchia Templar as Transformation Director. Sammy van Brakel becomes Chief of Staff for Ziggo Group and VodafoneZiggo, while Robin Kroes has been named Deputy CEO of VodafoneZiggo.
Ziggo Group will concentrate on areas including capital allocation, technology strategy and creating efficiencies across the two businesses, while the individual operators retain their existing market responsibilities.
Preparations for the spin-off include the recently announced €669 million sale of VodafoneZiggo’s passive tower assets. Liberty Global is targeting between €1.2 billion and €1.4 billion from non-core asset disposals, with the proceeds being used to reduce Ziggo Group debt ahead of the listing.
“As we bring together Telenet and VodafoneZiggo, I am excited to be joined by a talented team with deep experience as we create a stronger platform to serve our customers across Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands,” said van Rooyen.
Ziggo Group will remain within Liberty Global’s governance structure during preparations for the planned mid-2027 listing.
