Luxembourg’s SES and JioStar, South Asia’s largest media conglomerate, have announced a new multi-year deal under which SES will provide satellite distribution services for JioStar’s portfolio of TV channels across India and South Asia using the IS-20 satellite.
The agreement enables JioStar to distribute its channels to cable, DTH and broadcast distribution networks across the region. IS-20 is part of SES’s established video neighbourhood serving broadcasters, media companies, telcos and government customers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.
“JioStar is one of the most iconic and known media brands in India, and we are proud to support their regionwide broadcast operations,” commented Deepak Mathur, President Media Vertical at SES. “With IS-20, JioStar can serve audiences across India and beyond with confidence, while benefiting from resilient infrastructure, strong performance and SES’s commitment to excellence. We look forward to building on this partnership in the years to come.”
“Our partnership with SES marks an exciting new chapter for JioStar as our bouquet of television channels continue to reach millions of homes across India, allowing viewers to continue accessing the content they love. We’re happy to expand our reach and continue delivering the high-quality programming that our audiences have come to expect of us over the years,” added Rajat Nigam, Head of Technology & Media Operations, JioStar.
