United Group has reaffirmed its target of reaching net zero emissions across its value chain by 2040 as the telecoms and media group continues to reshape its operations around EU markets.

Publishing its 2025 Sustainability Report, the group also maintained its commitment to source all electricity from renewable sources from 2027. Its interim emissions targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.

The report covers a year in which United Group sold a number of businesses outside the European Union and introduced a more decentralised management structure. Individual operating companies now have their own leadership and targets, while United Group sets sustainability standards centrally and provides funding for associated investments.

“Telecoms and media are long-term businesses. The infrastructure we are putting in place today will serve customers for decades, and our channels are trusted by audiences who have grown up with them. That is why sustainability sits at the heart of our investment decisions, the standards we set for our suppliers and the support we give our teams,” said CEO Stan Miller.

During 2025, the company continued investment in fibre-to-the-home and 5G networks alongside energy-efficiency measures and renewable generation projects in Bulgaria.

Women represented 42% of United Group’s leadership at group level and 37% of leadership within its local businesses. The company also assessed more than 2,700 suppliers for ethical compliance during the year.

United Group’s current portfolio includes telecoms and media operations across Southeast Europe, with its recent restructuring increasing the group’s focus on EU markets.
