Netflix to live-stream Countdown Concert 2026-2027 Starto to World

Netflix has announced that it will globally live-stream Countdown Concert 2026-2027 Starto to World – a year-end countdown concert featuring artists from Japanene company Starto Entertainment – on December 31st.

This concert began in 1996 as a charity event supporting recovery efforts following the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and has since become an annual tradition for artists and fans to close out and welcome the new year together. In 2026, it marks its 30th anniversary — and through Netflix’s live stream, people anywhere in the world will be able to watch the performances and count down to the new year in real time from Japan.


The event will mark the first Japan-originated music live event on Netflix, and also its first worldwide simultaneous live stream of a year-end countdown concert. Performing artists and streaming times will be announced at a later date.

Beyond the concert on December 31st, Netflix and Starto Entertainment will produce and exclusively stream a pre-show programme leading up to the concert and, in late January 2027, a behind-the-scenes programme following it. From the artist lineup announcement to the main show and what happens behind it, viewers will get several different angles of the concert — including glimpses of the artists that won’t appear in the main broadcast.
