US streaming market sees wave of consolidation

Ten US streaming services were phased out during the second quarter of 2026 as operators continued to consolidate standalone services and move programming onto larger platforms, according to Parks Associates.
The research company’s Streaming Video Tracker points to the closure, consolidation and repositioning of services as the US streaming market continues to reorganise.
Among the changes, Paramount Skydance closed BET+ as a standalone streaming service, moving its library into Paramount+ through a dedicated BET Hub.
Sports services have also been affected. FIFA+ has moved to DAZN, while OHL Live transferred its digital streaming content to FloHockey. RidePass has moved from a standalone service to operating solely as a FAST channel, while FanDuel Sports Network has closed its television channels and streaming operations.
FC Barcelona’s Barça One has meanwhile been replaced by Barça Play, integrated into the club’s app and website, while CTV Throwback and Movies content has moved to Crave.
“Streaming services continue to experiment with the best ways to reach and monetise audiences,” said Michael Goodman, Director, Entertainment Research at Parks Associates. “The movement of content from standalone apps to larger platforms and FAST channels shows how quickly distribution strategies are changing.”
The contraction is not entirely one-way. Parks Associates added two services to its tracker during the quarter: OG Network, an AVOD and FAST service, and TrueTVplus, a FAST platform carrying sports, independent films, documentaries and lifestyle programming.
The Streaming Video Tracker now profiles 370 streaming services in the United States and 234 in Canada.
Parks Associates says the changes illustrate an increasingly fluid market in which content owners are reassessing whether programming is better monetised through standalone subscriptions, larger streaming platforms or advertising-supported FAST distribution.
