German sports broadcaster Sportdigital has secured live rights to eight international football and rugby competitions in a deal with global rights agency IMG.

The package includes the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana, the Gulf Cup, Australia’s A-League, the US National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the Scottish Cup and the Rugby League World Cup. Sportdigital has also acquired rights to selected matches from Romania’s SuperLiga through a direct agreement with the league.

The pay-TV broadcaster will show around 80 matches from the Libertadores and Sudamericana, the two leading South American club competitions, with three to four live matches per matchday from each tournament.

The deal also covers all 15 matches of the 2026 Gulf Cup. The tournament will be held in Saudi Arabia, with the hosts joined by teams including Iraq and Qatar.

Sportdigital has extended its A-League rights for a further two years. The broadcaster will show around 75 matches per season from the top professional league in Australia and New Zealand, including two to three matches per matchday and the playoffs. The A-League has been part of Sportdigital’s offering since 2014.

In the NWSL, Sportdigital will broadcast the playoffs from the quarter-finals through to the final. Coverage of the Scottish Cup will start with the round of 16 and continue through to the final, including matches involving Scottish clubs Celtic and Rangers.

The rugby rights cover selected matches from the men’s and women’s Rugby League World Cups. The men’s tournament begins on 15 October 2026, followed by the women’s competition on 16 October. The tournaments will be staged in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

The new SuperLiga rights will give Sportdigital access to selected top matches from Romania’s premier division, with particular focus on derbies involving Bucharest clubs Dinamo, Rapid and FCSB.

“With the rights package from IMG and the top matches from Romania’s SuperLiga, we are significantly expanding our offering as a home for international live sport. The eight competitions add even more attractive sports content and strong brands to our portfolio,” said Gisbert Wundram, Managing Director of Sportdigital.
