Disney licenses titles to Netflix
October 5, 2026

Disney has announced a deal to license a number of its titles to Netflix.

Per the deal, Netflix will host select Disney+ content for its subscribers, including a mix of legacy titles and currently streaming TV shows. The first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is streaming on the rival platform effective immediately (in a 3 month window) ahead of its Season 3 premiere on Disney+ on November 20th.

Additionally, all five Ice Age movies are now available to stream on Netflix (also for a 3 month period) ahead of the release of Ice Age: Boiling Point in February 2027. Will Trent Seasons 1-4, Shifting Gears Seasons 1-2, Tracker Seasons 1-3, Pixar’s Soul and Elio movies, and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Raya and the Last Dragon film will also land Netflix in the coming months.

Variety reports that this is “a mutually beneficial deal”, with Netflix getting more content and Disney getting a larger audience on content outside of its flagship franchises such as Marvel and Star Wars.
