Dish DBS has completed its prepackaged bankruptcy reconstruction, reducing aggregate outstanding indebtedness by approximately $4.35 billion (€3.88bn) and returning to EchoStar’s normal consolidated financial statements.

According to the filing, the Dish DBS and its related businesses emerged from bankruptcy on October 1, 2026, after the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division, entered an order confirming the Dish DBS prepackaged Chapter 11 plan on September 29th 2026. All conditions precedent to the plan’s effective date were satisfied or waived in accordance with its terms.

Through a combination of the debt restructuring, the repayment in full of Dish DBS Corporation’s 7.75 per cent Senior Notes due July 1st 2026, and the partial early repayment of Dish DBS’s 5.25 per cent Senior Secured Notes due December 1st 2026, the Dish DBS Filing Entities have reduced their aggregate outstanding indebtedness by approximately $4.35 billion.

EchoStar, in its statement, said its subsidiary Dish DBS executed three supplemental indentures on October 1, 2026, following the entities’ emergence from bankruptcy under a prepackaged plan and restructuring support agreement. The amendments cover Dish DBS’s senior secured notes due 2026 and 2028, as well as unsecured notes due 2028 and 2029. Trustees and agents included Wilmington Savings Fund Society as successor trustee and US Bank Trust Company as collateral agent for the secured notes, and US Bank Trust Company as trustee for the unsecured notes. The actions align covenants, security provisions, and other terms with the reorganised structure and are aimed at maintaining compliance post-emergence.
