BBC Studios has agreed its largest content sales package to date in Poland, licensing more than 200 hours of programming to Polsat.

The mixed-genre catalogue agreement covers drama, factual and entertainment programming for Polsat’s free-to-air and basic pay-TV channels.

The package includes earlier seasons of Death in Paradise and Father Brown, alongside factual titles including Atlantic: Wildest Ocean on Earth, David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities, The Vikings Uncovered and Natural World: Return of the Giant Killers.

BBC Studios will maintain windowing around its own Polish channel operation. Premieres of the latest seasons of Death in Paradise and Father Brown will continue exclusively on BBC First, which is distributed by major Polish platforms including Polsat Box.

The companies have also renewed their agreement for the BBC Studios format Dancing With The Stars. Polsat will continue to produce the Polish version, whose 19th series premiered in September.

BBC Studios says Dancing With The Stars remains Poland’s number one entertainment programme.

“These new agreements with Polsat underscore the enduring appeal of BBC Studios’ world class IP and our ability to develop and expand local partnerships,” said Zai Bennett, Chief Executive Officer of BBC Studios Productions.

The agreements have been announced ahead of MIPCOM, which takes place in Cannes next week.
