German media company ProSiebenSat.1 has launched an HbbTV-based self-service platform that enables small and medium-sized (SMEs) businesses to plan and run addressable TV campaigns on connected TVs.
The ProSiebenSat.1 AdManager, provided by advertising sales subsidiary Seven. One Media, allows advertisers to book campaigns in the SwitchIn L-format across ProSiebenSat.1’s TV channels. Campaigns can be targeted according to various criteria, including regional targeting, while a reporting dashboard provides real-time performance data and allows campaigns to be optimised against their objectives.
The platform was developed by MFE Advertising and has previously been launched in Italy and Spain. According to Seven. One Media, the tool is designed to lower the barrier to entry for smaller companies that have so far had limited access to TV advertising.
“In Germany, SMEs have traditionally been particularly strong and are a real driver of growth. Larger SMEs have already been active in TV advertising for years, while with the ProSiebenSat.1 AdManager we are significantly lowering the barrier to entry for smaller SMEs to advertise on the big screen,” said Nicola Lussana, CEO of Seven. One Media. “The tool enables simple campaign planning on connected TV and opens up our attractive, high-reach environments to an additional customer group.”
A ProSiebenSat.1 spokesperson confirmed to Broadband TV News that the open HbbTV standard is being used the deploy the service: “Addressable TV campaigns such as the SwitchIn format can be booked through the ProSiebenSat.1 AdManager. These campaigns are signalled via HbbTV and shown on connected TVs,” the spokesperson said.
Seven. One Media is supporting the launch with a campaign across its own TV and digital platforms. Further details on the solution are available at https://admanager.prosiebensat1.com/de.
