Eutelsat has renewed its agreement with Télédiffusion d’Algérie (TDA) for the distribution of Algerian television channels across the Middle East and North Africa.
The long-term agreement will see Algeria’s national broadcasting network operator continue using capacity on EUTELSAT 7 West A at the 7/8° West orbital position.
Eutelsat says the position reaches around 70 million homes across MENA and carries a mixture of public and commercial broadcasters, as well as Arabic and international channels.
The renewal continues a longstanding relationship between Eutelsat and TDA and provides for the continued satellite distribution of Algeria’s national television services within the country and across the wider region.
“TDA is a strategic partner for Eutelsat in Algeria, and this renewal reflects the strength of a relationship built over many years,” said Sandy Saade, Sales Director MENA at Eutelsat.
Eutelsat is positioning the agreement as further evidence of the continuing importance of 7/8° West for linear satellite television in the MENA market.
