Zattoo expands German line-up beyond 250 channels

Zattoo has expanded its German TV line-up to more than 250 channels with the addition of six FAST Channels, while also adding 22 linear free-to-air channels and further FAST services to its Swiss offering, taking the total number of channels available in Switzerland beyond 400.

In Germany, the new FAST Channels cover a broad range of genres, from cooking and wildlife to classic US series, Westerns and factual programming about technology and vehicles. The additions are ZDF kocht!, ARD Plus Zoo, Beverly Hills 90210, Lucky Dog, Rauchende Colts and Wheels & Steel.

ZDF kocht! offers a 24/7 line-up of ZDF cooking programmes, including more than 3,500 episodes of Küchenschlacht as well as Topfgeldjäger, Stadt, Land, Lecker and Kerners Köche. ARD Plus Zoo brings together programmes such as Panda, Gorilla & Co., Elefant, Tiger & Co. and Leopard, Seebär & Co., alongside the series Tierärztin Dr. Mertens.

The new line-up also includes the 1990s US series Beverly Hills 90210, the dog-training format Lucky Dog and the Western series Rauchende Colts (“Gunsmoke”). Wheels & Steel focuses on engineering and vehicles, with documentaries and factual programmes covering construction sites, aircraft, cargo ships, cars and trucks.

The six additions take Zattoo’s German portfolio to more than 250 channels for customers on its Smart HD, Premium and Ultimate plans. The company started its German service in 2007 with around 20 channels.

Zattoo’s expansion is also extending to Switzerland, where the company is adding 22 linear free-to-air channels from different countries and language regions. The new services include ERT World from Greece, Duna from Hungary, 2M Monde from Morocco and LCP from France. Combined with additional FAST Channels, the expansion takes the Swiss portfolio beyond 400 channels for Premium and Ultimate customers.

The Swiss service is also upgrading 31 existing free-to-air channels from SD to HD. Zattoo Free now offers around 280 channels.

High View supplies five of the new FAST Channels: ZDF kocht!, ARD Plus Zoo, Beverly Hills 90210, Lucky Dog and Rauchende Colts. “Zattoo is an important partner for us and we are pleased to present our channels on a platform with such broad reach. Autentic is providing Wheels & Steel. “We are pleased to extend our successful partnership with another channel. With Wheels & Steel, we offer fascinating insights into the world of large machines and impressive engineering projects. All of Autentic’s channels currently available in DACH are now represented on Zattoo, and another channel is already in the pipeline,” said Patrick Hörl, Managing Director at Autentic.
