Zavvi enters administration

Zavvi, the online film, music and entertainment retailer, has entered into administration.

A notice on the Zavvi website says: “The Company has ceased trading with immediate effect. The Company is unable to fulfil any outstanding orders or pre-orders. Customers should not place any new orders through the Company’s website. Please also note that we are unable to accept any returns for items of any kind.”


Zavvi was founded in September 2007 by Simon Douglas and Steve Peckham who purchased and renaming the UK division of Virgin Megastores. In December 2008, the retailer entered administration, and the final stores closed down in February 2009, and it became solely an online entity.
