CNN will launch its All Access subscription in the UK and Canada on October 20, marking the offering’s first international expansion.
The subscription combines live and on-demand streaming with unlimited access to text, audio and video journalism on CNN.com and the CNN app. It will be available through the web and selected mobile and connected TV apps.
Subscribers will receive a selection of live channels drawn from CNN’s international and US programming, exclusive on-demand content, and a library of CNN Original Series and CNN Films. The package also includes subscriber-only reporting and features.
UK pricing will be £4.99 a month or £49.99 annually, with an introductory offer of £37.99 for the first year. In Canada, the service will cost C$7.99 a month or C$79.99 annually, with a first-year launch offer of C$59.99.
Existing CNN Live subscribers in the UK will be upgraded to All Access. Eligible Canadian pay-TV subscribers will be able to access the new video offering using their provider credentials at no additional cost.
Alex MacCallum, Chief Operating Officer of CNN Worldwide, said the UK and Canada had been the company’s priority international expansion markets following the offering’s reception in the US.
The launch comes ahead of the US midterm elections on November 3, with CNN highlighting its live political coverage, election reporting and streaming analysis as part of the package.
CNN plans to extend All Access to further international markets in the coming year.
