Banijay Kids & Family, a specialist in children’s entertainment, has announced that Sky UK has acquired the complete catalogue of Little Princess. Elsewhere, new distribution deals for the preschool animation have also been struck across Nordisk Film, RTV Slovenia and TIM.

Banijay Kids & Family Distribution represents the global distribution rights for the animated preschool series, which is produced by The Illuminated Film Company. Sky UK has acquired all seasons and specials, bringing Little Princess to audiences across the UK.

Across Europe, Nordisk Film is taking seasons one to three and the specials for SVoD across the Nordics; RTV Slovenia is acquiring seasons one and two; and TIM is taking seasons one and two for its Italian streaming platform aggregator, TimVision.

Julia Rowlands, SVP Sales, Co-Productions and Acquisitions, Banijay Kids & Family, commented: “Across the industry, we’re seeing continued demand for trusted, established IP that can cut through in an increasingly crowded landscape. With a new UK home on Sky and partners across Europe, Little Princess demonstrates the enduring value of distinctive characters and storytelling that audiences know and love.”

Based on the children’s books by author and illustrator Tony Ross, the animated Little Princess series first launched in 2006 and has since aired in more than 140 territories worldwide.
