Forecast: LED video display market set for growth
October 19, 2026
The global LED video display market is facing slower growth amid rising component costs, trade tensions and weaker demand in traditional applications. However, Omdia research forecasts an 11.6 per cent CAGR in revenue between 2026 and 2030, supported by emerging applications, regional manufacturing expansion and a shift towards higher-value products.
According to Omdia’s LED Video Display Market Tracker- Q2 2026, global shipments increased 3.3 per cent increase year-on-year in Q2 2026 while revenue declined 0.2 per cent highlighting continued pressure on the industry.
Since late 2025, manufacturers have faced significant increases in component costs. Suppliers of LED chips, driver ICs, printed circuit boards (PCBs), power supplies, and other materials have announced successive price adjustments. In response, several brands have implemented three to four rounds of increases, with cumulative product adjustments ranging from 3 per cent to 30 per cent.
“Rising prices and changing market conditions are prompting vendors to reassess their product portfolios and focus om higher-value opportunities,” said Cindy Liu, Senior Analyst at Omdia. “Vendors are increasingly prioritizing mid-range and premium products, improving energy efficiency, reliability while expanding production capacity in areas where they have competitive advantages.”
Emerging markets drive regional manufacturing expansion
Despite near-term challenges, emerging markets across Asia & Oceania, Latin America & the Caribbean, Middle East & Africa and Eastern Europe present significant growth opportunities.
Urbanisation, infrastructure investment, energy-efficiency initiatives and growing adoption of digital display technologies are encouraging manufacturers to expand regional production and diversify supply chains.
For example, Daktronics is investing in a new manufacturing facility in Saltillo, Mexico with shipments expected to provide greater flexibility in managing production costs, tariff and regional customer requirements.
Similarly, Leyard has been expanding its manufacturing presence in Saudi Abria following a 2024 agreement with Saudi Engineer Holding Group Establish (EHG), with production originally scheduled to begin in Q2 2026.
Emerging applications create new opportunities
Technological advances in Micro LED, chip-on-board (COB) packaging, high-precision seamless splicing and interactive technology, are expanding the role of LED video displays beyond traditional applications.
Among overall flat shipment volume, where innovative applications are no longer niche experimental projects, but scalable, commercially viable solutions generating measurable business and social value. Across sports venues, immersive cultural tourism, film and television production, public safety and commercial retail, LED video displays are evolving from supporting hardware into a core driver of scenario transformation.
Immersive entertainment, cultural attractions, virtual production, sports venues and commercial environments are creating opportunities for manufacturers to deliver more sophisticated display solutions.
Curved and spherical LED installations, for example, are enabling immersive visual experiences in planetariums, science centres and cultural attractions. Meanwhile, multi-sided LED CAVE systems provide immersive environments without requiring head-mounted devices, supporting applications ranging from museums and corporate exhibitions to simulation and training.
These developments are expected to support stronger market growth from 2027 onwards.
Omdia forecasts global LED video display revenue will grow at an 11.6 per cent CAGR between 2026 and 2030 with corporate signage and public space applications forecast to achieve higher CAGRs of 14.7 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively.
