TV5MONDE has signed its first distribution agreement with Prime Video, making the French-language channel available to Amazon Prime members in France and Germany at no additional cost.
The channel is integrated into the Prime Video interface, offering programming from French-speaking markets across Africa, North America, Europe and the Maghreb.
In Germany, programming is subtitled in German. Prime members in France also have access to a selection of catch-up programmes.
The line-up includes weekly arts programme La Grande Galerie Francophone, cultural magazine Maghreb Orient Express and monthly travel and discovery series Destination Francophonie.
“This agreement marks a new step in our hyperdistribution strategy. Our goal is clear: to meet audiences wherever they are and introduce them to French-language programming of unparalleled diversity,” said Kim Younes, CEO of TV5MONDE.
The Prime Video agreement adds to TV5MONDE’s existing distribution through French internet service providers and Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV offering in Germany.
TV5MONDE operates ten channels reaching more than 400 million households worldwide. Its wider digital offering includes the TV5MONDE+ streaming platform, available in 200 countries and territories, alongside FAST channels and mobile apps.
