The European Broadcasting Union has extended its media rights agreement with Amaury Sport Organisation and Unipublic by two years, securing coverage of the Tour de France, La Vuelta and other leading cycling events until 2032.
The extension adds the 2031 and 2032 seasons to the existing 2026–2030 agreement and maintains the same portfolio of men’s and women’s races.
Eurosport will continue to carry the events across Europe through an EBU sublicence, alongside TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland. Eurosport’s rights exclude France, apart from six events including La Vuelta and La Vuelta Femenina.
At the signing, EBU members in 11 countries had committed to showing all or part of the package free-to-air. They include RTBF, ČT, Denmark’s TV2, DUNA, RAI, NOS, Norway’s TV2, RTP, RTVS, RTV Slovenija and SRG SSR.
Alongside the two men’s Grand Tours, the portfolio includes Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, La Flèche Wallonne, Paris-Nice and Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Women’s events include the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, La Vuelta Femenina and Paris-Roubaix Femmes.
Frédéric Sanz, Head of Summer Sports and Cycling at EBU Sport, said: “Our relationship has never been stronger, built on a shared ambition to bring the very best cycling to the widest possible audience.”
A.S.O. Media and Partnerships Director Julien Goupil said nearly 150 million people across Europe follow the Tour de France each summer, with digital platforms helping attract younger audiences.
“Together with the EBU and its members, we also share a commitment to supporting the shift towards digital consumption of sports content on official broadcasters’ platforms,” he said. “And this transition is already well underway.”
The partnership dates back to 1968, when A.S.O. signed its first comprehensive agreement with the European broadcasters then operating under the Eurovision name.
