Netflix to stream La Velada del Año events
October 20, 2026
Netflix has announced that La Velada del Año will stream on its platform for the next three years (the 2027, 2028 and 2029 editions), expanding the reach of the event created by Ibai Llanos to a global audience.
La Velada del Año has established itself as one of the biggest Spanish-language streaming events. Its fifth edition, held in 2025, reached a peak of 9.3 million concurrent viewers, while average viewership has grown from approximately 1 million in 2021 to more than 6 million in 2026.
Since its debut in 2021, La Velada del Año has evolved from a boxing event featuring content creators into a large-scale spectacle combining sports, music and entertainment, bringing together some of the most popular digital personalities from Spain and Latin America each year. Its growth has also been reflected in the scale of its live audiences, evolving from a small-scale first edition to filling some of Spain’s largest stadiums, including Madrid’s Metropolitano and Santiago Bernabéu, as well as Seville’s La Cartuja.
Until now, La Velada del Año had primarily been streamed on Twitch via Ibai Llanos’ channel. In 2026, the sixth edition expanded its distribution to YouTube and TikTok, ahead of the event streaming on Netflix in 2027.
“In 2021, we put together the first La Velada in a concert venue in Barcelona, with no idea how far it could go. Five years later, millions of people have watched it at the same time, and bringing it to Netflix for the next three years gives us the opportunity to make it even bigger without losing what makes it special: the community that makes it all possible,” commented Llanos.
