Jeff Bezos-backed Blue Origin has seen overall investment into its Florida launch, assembly and pre-launch facilities top more than $3 billion (€2.67bn). The aim is to be ready to launch more New Glenn rocket and more frequently.

Starting in summer 2027, Blue Origin is targeting multiple New Glenn rockets per week by the end of the decade. It is putting $330 million into a factory expansion programme to complete 150 upper rocket stages per year. This will boost employment locally to some 5,000 staff.

Blue Origin has asked the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) for permission to raise the current limits and increase launches from 12 per year to 50.

Blue Origin is building two ocean landing platforms for reusable booster stages.

The rocket company is expanding its Space Coast facilities to add to its existing pair of sites at Launch Complex 36. Blue Origin is also developing a new four-bay satellite integration facility with the US Space Force, allowing multiple government and commercial missions to be prepared simultaneously.

New Glenn remains grounded following a May explosion, with the company working toward returning the rocket to flight perhaps during December this year.
