wedotv has launched its Movies channel on Freely in the UK, alongside a refreshed film slate featuring titles acquired from New Regency.
The launch extends the channel’s distribution through the broadband television platform backed by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5.
Films coming to UK viewers include The Big Short, Big Momma’s House, Big Momma’s House 2, JFK and Natural Born Killers. The line-up also includes The Sentinel, The Negotiator, The Client and Under Siege.
“Launching wedotv Movies on Freely is another important step in expanding our UK distribution,” said Chris Sharp, Chairman of wedotv. “At the same time, we are delighted to renew our relationship with New Regency.”
Sharp said the studio’s catalogue would strengthen the film offering across wedotv and its Movies channel.
The PSB-backed Freely combines free live and on-demand television over broadband and is available on compatible smart TVs and streaming devices.
“wedotv Movies is a great addition to Freely, giving viewers even more films to enjoy alongside the best of live and on demand TV,” said Deep Halder, Chief Commercial Officer at Everyone TV.
wedotv Movies runs a 24-hour schedule covering action, thrillers, comedy and drama. It is also available on Freeview channel 98 and through other connected TV and streaming platforms.
