Dutch operator Odido has selected Synamedia Go to power its TV streaming service, with plans to migrate existing subscribers to the cloud-based platform.

The deployment will replace legacy technology with a modular software-as-a-service platform, allowing Odido to introduce new features while maintaining service continuity during the transition.

Synamedia Go provides content discovery, multi-DRM security, subscriber management, analytics and ready-made applications. Its AI-powered modules also support personalised recommendations and automatically generated short-form feeds, which Odido can introduce as its service develops.

Johan van den Branden, Chief Network and Operations Officer at Odido, said: “With Synamedia Go, we can introduce new experiences faster, create more opportunities to engage viewers and grow revenue, all while simplifying operations.”

He added that Synamedia’s experience in large-scale migrations would help the operator manage the transition with minimal risk and disruption to viewing.

Steve Reeves, Chief Revenue Officer at Synamedia, said: “Odido has a clear vision for the future of its TV service, and Go gives it the flexibility to realise that vision at its own pace, without disrupting the experience for existing subscribers.”

The companies said the platform would enable Odido to add capabilities incrementally, adapting its TV offering to changing customer requirements.
