UKTV will relocate its headquarters from Hammersmith to Television Centre in White City by spring 2027, bringing its staff closer to colleagues across BBC Studios.

The move follows a review of workspace arrangements and is intended to contribute to savings across the BBC Group while supporting closer collaboration with BBC Studios’ global production operations and BritBox.

UKTV will occupy its own designated area within Television Centre. The broadcaster has stressed that the relocation does not represent a structural merger with BBC Studios’ Global Channels and Streaming division.

Sam Tewungwa, UKTV chief executive, said: “This is a positive and natural move for UKTV. As well as contributing to cost savings across the BBC Group, it will support closer collaboration with our BBC Studios colleagues in an inspiring environment with excellent facilities. UKTV will retain its distinct identity, brand presence and highly valued culture.”

Tewungwa became chief executive on 1 April, having previously served as managing director. He reports to Marcus Arthur, CEO of BBC Studios’ Global Channels and Streaming business, and oversees UKTV’s channel portfolio and free streaming service U.
