Finnish operator DNA has launched DNA Viihdemix, allowing customers to combine three video, podcast and audiobook services under a single subscription and monthly bill.

Available from 27 October, the package offers a choice of Netflix, HBO Max, Viaplay, SkyShowtime, Apple TV, Podme, Storytel and BritBox. Customers can change their selection monthly, add further services or upgrade to higher subscription tiers.

Viihdemix is available as a standalone product, without requiring a DNA broadband, mobile or television subscription. The announcement does not specify the monthly price or which subscription tiers are included.

Mikko Saarentaus, DNA’s Director of Entertainment and Value-Added Services, said the growing spread of content across different platforms had increased the number of subscriptions consumers use alongside one another.

“DNA Viihdemix brings popular entertainment services together under one subscription, making them easily accessible to consumers and allowing them to switch flexibly,” he said.

According to DNA’s Digital Life study, 52% of people using paid entertainment services would like a subscription that allows them to switch between services. A further 40% said they would like to pay for different entertainment services on one bill.

“Our research shows that people want more flexibility and an easier way to manage their entertainment services. With DNA Viihdemix, all services are managed in one place and on one bill,” Saarentaus added.

The launch follows DNA’s introduction of its broader DNA Viihde entertainment offering earlier this month, bringing television, streaming and other entertainment applications together through a single device and interface.
