EchoStar XI Set for Tuesday Launch

Sea Launch said it will launch the EchoStar XI satellite for DISH Network next Tuesday, July 15.

Lift-off is planned for 10:21 p.m. Pacific Time at the opening of a two-hour launch window, the launch services provider said.

Upon arrival at the launch site, located at the Equator in the Pacific Ocean, the Sea Launch team will initiate a 72-hour countdown. Two vessels, the Odyssey Launch Platform and Sea Launch Commander, are en route to the site.

EchoStar XI will support the expansion of DISH Network capacity, including high-def services. Space Systems/Loral built the satellite.
