Hi guys,
Has anyone seen this message "Please, Try STB power OFF and ON"?
I get this when I try to update the firmware on Fortec star 9800 v2.
My PC is connected to the receiver with RS232, but when I click on the "Upload" I get the previous message. I have tried to switch on/off, rebooted the receiver, done a Master reset, rebooted the PC, but whatever I do I get this error and I am not able to continue with the update. I get the same message if I unplug the RS232 cable and click "Upload". I have checked the cable and it is OK.

Here is my current Fortec system info:
-Boot Version : 2.00
-APPL Version: 2.05
-C.A. Version : 1.08

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I know it's basic, but are you sure whether you need a straight through or "null modem" cable.
Just a thought.
