You were right - the computer shop sold me a normal serial cable for "null modem" one.

Unfortunately the saga doesn't finish here....

I updated the receiver with the Compress Application - v.3.04 PAL file from Fortec website. Uploader 4 doesn't have a separate option for Transfer Type -Compressed Application, so I used "All". The file was transferred 100% and then I got the message "Please Wait". After 4 hours of waiting decided to click "Cancel", which displayed “Upload Completed”? The problem is that after the update the receiver is not responding and showing "booting". I left it running all night, but it is still in coma showing "booting" on the display, and no sign of live ... The update documentation says not to switch the power plug off until "CH1" or no "NOCH" , because it would damage the receiver, so I am keeping it still on. I tried uploading "boot loader", but the Uploader could not start the upload with the message "Please, Try STB power OFF and ON, but I can use the Uploader to send bytes to the receiver. Are there any codes that can be sent via the uploader to "wake up" the receiver?

Does anyone have any ideas what can be done, before going to the shop for a new one .

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, It's a trap for anyone. I,m not sure what you can do from here. Perhaps others who have had the same problem can step in and help you. Otherwise take it (the cable) back to the clown that sold it to you and GARROTTE him.

Emulation key is not functioning with Fortec Star Life time ultra receivers. Are they changing keys daily?? Looking forward for the next posting. Thanks
