Je précise qu’il s’agit bien d’un convertisseur et non d’un adaptateur.
Le convertisseur comporte un boitier au niveau du DB9, dans lequel se trouve un circuit électronique, ce qui n’est pas le cas de l’adaptateur.
De plus, le convertisseur est toujours accompagné de drivers (en général sur un mini cd).
Cependant, sur le marché, certains convertisseurs ont la nomination « adaptateur » ou « adapter »(en anglais).
Il vous reste donc juste à vérifier qu’il possède des drivers, et il s’agira bien d’un convertisseur.
II / Branchements :

Heu … l’usb sur l’ordi … le DB9 sur le null modem … et … le null modem sur le démo.
Je sais c’est super technique, et il y a plein d’autres possibilités donc si vous hésitez bah … c’est grave ! ;)
III/ Installation du convertisseur sous Windows :
C’est très simple, vous installez vos drivers avec le cd fourni.
Une fois que c’est fait, vous cliquez droit sur votre poste de travail, puis sur Propriétés.
Sur l’onglet Matériel vous cliquez sur « Gestionnaire de périphériques ».
Dans la liste de gauche, vous cliquez sur le + de Ports (COM et LPT) puis vous cliquez droit sur le port correspondant à votre câble usb /db9 puis sur Propriétés.
Comme aucune explication n’est meilleure qu’une image :
Vous arrivez donc dans les paramètres du port, et il ne vous reste plus qu’à modifier quelques instructions :
Bits Par seconde : 128 000
Bits de données : 7
Parité : Aucune
Bits d’Arrêt : 1
Contrôle de flux : Aucun
Ensuite vous allez dans les paramètres avancés pour définir le numéro du port COM que vous voulez attribuer, de 1 à 7 de préférence en choisissant un numéro libre.
Voilà, vous avez maintenant tout ce qu’il vous faut pour flasher votre monstre à partir d’un portable, ou d’un ordinateur ne disposant pas de port Com et donc le passage par l’usb semble indispensable.

Heu… the usb on the ordi… the DB9 on the null modem… and… the null modem on the demonstration.
I know it is super technique, and there is full with other possibilities thus if you hesitate bah… it is serious! ;)
III Installation of the converter under Windows:
It is very simple, you install your drivers with provided Cd.
Once that it is done, you click right on your working station, then on Propriétés.
On the Matériel mitre you click on "Manager of peripherals".
In the list of left, you click on + of Ports (COM and LPT) then you click right on the port corresponding to your cable usb/db9 then on Propriétés.
As no explanation is better than an image:
You thus arrive in the parameters of the port, and it any more but does not remain you to modify some instructions:
Bits A second: 128 000
Bits of data: 7
Parity: None
Bits of Stop: 1
Control flow: None
Then you in the advanced parameters will define the number of the port COM which you want to allot, from 1 to 7 preferably by choosing a free number.
