Arcor offers Pro7Sat.1 via Restart TV

Subscribers to the German IPTV platform Arcor-Digital TV (pictured, left) will from September be able to restart programmes from ProSiebenSat.1’s channel family during their transmission from the beginning with a press of the remote control.

Each use of the serviced dubbed Restart TV will cost €0.49. Until now, the function was only available for the news channels Bloomberg TV and BBC World.

Arcor-Digital TV offers around 50 channels in its basic package for €9.95 per month and, for an additional fee, a further 60 channels in pay-TV bouquets and foreign language packages. The platform, which also comprises an online video library, is currently available in 60 cities, with more to follow over the coming weeks. By year-end around 12 million households should be covered.

The package, launched in May 2007, can be subscribed to by all Arcor ADSL customers with an internet speed of at least 6 Mbit/s. The IPTV set-top-box, which connects the ADSL line to the television set, costs €49.95. Arcor is the German fixed-line subsidiary of UK-based mobile network operator Vodafone.
