sync port help

I'm completely new to this and I get this message each time my pc tries t sync with the receiver " target not connected..."

i dunno what are the proper settings


My sat is a Star Sat ST-15X SUPER and am using the ALI MINI UPGRADE 5.2 with the proper cable

What are the port settings and what should I do exactly,I have the bin file of the firmware and everything is ready but I just can't seem to connect the PC to the SAT

Isn't the proper cable the RS 232, one cable straight from the sat to the pc port?
If so, why am I not able to connect? Need some help here.
