It's not working on my DM500 (Nemesis) with those settings with smartbee. It is working with a phoenix reader at 6Mhz though. I have also read the same thing elsewhere from other users who also had the smartbee 3,579

Hey mentorm
Make sure you serial port is active....
There is and option to disable it in most images on DM500.....
Long time since i played with Dm500.....
I think default is " Dont open Port " ticked
They can take a little messing to get working on Dm's
Try starting you box without Card reader plugged in.. then attach after box is working....

Could connect this reader to a linux server using "usb to serial" cable?
Please answer somebody to the previous question. I have a linux server. Do I need to buy pci - serial to install 2-3 phoenix readers, or a usb-serial cable would work as well?
