Orange, Canal+ disagree on I-Télé
French TV regulatory body CSA has confirmed it has been asked by operator Orange to arbitrate a disgreement with Canal+ group.
This regards Orange’s intention to broadcast Canal+ news channel I-Télé as well as Canal+ unencrypted programming via its satellite offer. But Vivendi’s subsidiary is opposed to its channels being broadcast on Orange’s satellite package, despite both channels already being offered via Orange’s IPTV platform.
According to Orange, such a refusal is prejudicial against its DTH subscribers as those free channels are available on other platforms. CSA will have two months to take a decision.
