how to patch receiver

Hi, I'm new to satellite tv, I going to buy a technomate 5400 but it doesn't have a patch, I haven't a clue what to do, can you please tell me how to patch a receiver,NO E-MAIL ONLY BY PM THX much appreciated

Hi, First of all you will need a Null Modem Cable to connect your box to the computer.

You then download the patched firmware from the internet, and also the loader for the box.

Then load the firmware into the loader, and boot up the box with it connected to your computer, and in a few minutes it should be done.

Thats more or less the same for every box, Its quite easy.

where do I download the patched firmware from the internet, and also the loader for the box. I know what firmware means but what is a loader?

I was going to PM you but I couldn't find an option to do that

What sort of null modem cable do I need, I've looked on ebay and their seems to be different ones.

Hi , Patching a receiver is not complicated ,
U'll need:
1) a null modem cable :
pin2 ==>pin3
Pin3==>pin2
pin5==>pin5
2) a firmware (patch)
3) a loader
U can download the firmware and loader from sat-tv , u have to visit your receiver's section to learn more .
