I think you should look at my post here about serial cables.

My opinion is that you need a null modem cable, and not a normal serial cable.
You are, after all connecting from a PC to PC. ie DTE TO DTE.

If I load the program to my reciver Do I still need any card to open the D+ and TPS ??? and if not could U please help me to tell me how can I load the program to my reciver and what I need , for exemple which cable I have to use between my laptop and my reciver. Bonjour voila j'ai flasher mon 9500 CI mais je n'ai plus rien et plus moyen de mettre un autre firmware maintenant je suis en 3.1 quelqun aurait il un solution pour que je puisse remmetre un firmware qui marche
