What XBox can do that Our Dreambox Cannot

I really wants to know Why Dreambox can NOT act as an Media Center extender to my PC.

Let me explain: I had a wonderful Screen Saver on my PC, So I thought I will google for using DreamBox (Connected to a Local LAN) to SIMPLY DISPLAY WHATEVER I HAVE IN MY PC on my Plasma TV.

My Grandson has Xbox and he can do everything on the TV with his remote Game port.

Why I cannot do this simple task on my Plasma?

Can anyone help me with this "simple" request !!!

One should always avoid questions that needs a "long" reply
So to help nudge this post a little I will try to "answer myself" but hear I have you to stop me if I go wrong. Do not let me talk to myself for long.

1. XBOX is a M$ product and it has a graphical interface. It's built-in software can produce GUI that can be streamed to a TV
2. Dreambox even the 800x series has TEXT interface ( Ala DOS)
3. Dreambox is Linus Based to interface with "windows" subsystem is not an easy job. Hence my post.
4. This "simple" task that I asked for I ended up doing it this way:

Used auto capture screen program to record the screen saver in action Resulted in an AVI file.
I used VLCF to stream the file to my TV and asked for looping. Voila ...
I still need to adjust the avi resolution and frame rate etc etc to get it right
But at least I outline here my workflow little project

Let us see some firing squads !!!!!

dreambox cpu does not have enough grunt for DVD rips....:)
