Star TV adding Farsi

Hong Kong-based Star TV is to add a Farsi service for the Gulf region.

News Corp-owned Star TV says it will launch a Farsi service out of Dubai early in 2009. Star TV already has another 15 assorted channels going into the Middle East.

"With the addition of a dedicated Farsi language general entertainment channel, we will further expand our existing portfolio of channel offerings, allowing us to enhance the television viewing experience of audiences that speak the language," Star’s CEO Paul Aiello said.
