Sharing two dreambox locally in a LAN

I have DM500 and DM600 I am using CCcam_2.0.11 on both.
Can someone help me on how to setup One as a server to the other as a client
Be kind and make it simple.

PS I am using a PC to access the internet. All connected to a router

you want to share your DM's over your LAN
it is quite simple to do

firstly you need to no the IP addresses of your Dreamboxes The IP address of the server (IPaddressofserver) should be static, this can be done by unchecking the DHCP box in the communication setup

Do you know how to FTP your boxes. If you do

FTP the box you want to run as a server and edit the file var/etc/CCcam.cfg and add the line
F: username userpassword

Use usernames and passwords to suit you

Then start server with the CCcam2.0.11/NewCS cam

Then FTP the box you want to run as a client and edit the file var/etc/CCcam.cfg and add the line
C: IPaddresofserver 12000 username userpassword

CCcam by defult listens to port 12000 but to make sure in the server CCcam.cfg file there should be a line # SERVER LISTEN PORT 12000 Change this to SERVER LISTEN PORT 12000

Then start the client with the CCam2.0.11 cam

One thing I could not understand ( Can you believe that !!!)

You mentioned CCccam_2.0.11/Newcs !!!

Do I have to download Newcs as well ???

Here the status:

Before modification:

Both boxes have static addressees
Both have N: lines with the details of the External server I use
Both can access the external server and I get my channels

After the changes you kindly outlined ( I forward port 12000 for the Server in the router I made this change myself!!!! you did not ask for it)

1. Commented the N: on the client machine and added the C: line with the server IP and USER/PW
2. Added SERVER PORT 12000 ( I copied your text) to the server
3. Added the F: line in the Server machine with the USER/PW

Status

Server is working as before
Client I get "Service could not be found" I get NO CHANNEL Free or otherwise

If you need a bug report to help, let me know But with step by step as you did before

If you downloaded CCcam 2.0.11 - complete via you Blue panel / Addons menu in your DM. The NewCS server should already be installed.
You need to select the correct cam CCcam 2.0.11/NewCS 1.60 and re-start it. It wont work if just CCcam 2.0.11 is running
