Hi Guys
I have got Start Track 550D given to me by a friend. This STB is FTA I believe. Is there any way to put the keys in it? I can't see any cas menu in the information section. May be there is way to put the keys in it as somebody suggested somewhere. Your help much appreciated. Regards
Hi Hamza
Thanks for the reply. I don't think there is any key menu in the main menu. There are 5 icons in the menu which are Channel manager, Sat Installation, setting, Games and Information about the box. I tried to type 2020 in the main menu nothing happens. Are you sure this setting is for 550D FTA. Regards
Hi guys
Got another problem. I downloaded the 550D loader file 1.0.7 from the firmware section and when i try to open it i get the message 'Fatal error: Register file cannot be found'. I tried to get this file from elsewhere in case it is corrupted but still the same answer. Could anybody suggest me whats wrong? Regards
Hi Guys
Perhaps nobody like to answer my question on 550D problem. May be it is too technical. I explain it a bit more. I loaded the 1.07 bin file and after few seconds front panel read four zeros which normally suggest a power supply failure. But power supply seems ok to me because i swaped it with my friends's 550D box. Looks like processor is locked. Any technical man around here who could explain to me the problem or how to reset the processor. I couldn't find circuit diagram for this box anywhere which would have been a bit of help. Your help much appreciated chaps to resolve this problem. Regards
Hi Amir
Thanks for your reply mate. As explained in my previous thread the box developed a hardware fault during software loading and as such it starts showing 4 zeros. The power supply seems ok. To pin point fault on the processor side you need a circuit diagram. Now this type of box is not much popular in this part of the world where I live. I live in UK and it is very hard to find any technical info on this box. I believe Star Track stb is more commonly used in Mid East and eastern countries than on this side of the world therefore technical information like circuit diagram may be more easily available in India, Pakistan or in the Middle East countries. I still hope someone will come up with some information about this box one day. Regards
