Latvia prepares for FTTH

The Latvian incumbent telco Lattelecom has opted for technology from ECI Telecom for its new FTTH network.

It will include ECI Telecom’s Hi-Focus Multiservice Access Node (MSAN) and allow the Telia Sonera-backed company to eventually offer internet access speeds up to 500Mbps.

The first deployment, which will offer access at up to 100Mbps, will be in the capital, Riga.
