I think i might have fried my digiquest or my computer will not allow me to upgrade my box.

A while back I downloaded some firmware for my digiquest but ever since then I can't update the firmware or the codes for certain channels. I can't access the hidden menu at all.

I was going to try and get it sorted but I think it will cost a small fortune, it a digiquest 8000sci.

what do you guys think, repair or buy a new box with HD built in and a good blind feed option?
