new to all this satalite stuff

hi im new to all this satalite stuff and was just wondering do you need keys to open astra 1&2 channels ? since thats the only satalites i can reach untill i get my 1 metre dish up

if so or if not then how do i open the channels with $ next to them

ive got a funcard 4 and use a matrix reloaded cam (external)but ive been told i will need funcard 6 to open channels these days

sorry if im not making any sence but i havnt a clue when it comes to opening these channels

U can open channels with the Matrix
but u need to know how to update.
Start checking the newbee forums
and find out how.

ive already updated my cam to v2.0 by using the loader program as for the noob section .. where is the noob section ..

I am on Hotbird and watch Franch channels and TPS. I am using funcard 4 and it works perfectly well. No difference between funcard 4 and 6.for this purpose. You need a programmer for the card and 6in1 files fron the internet (this site!!). Good luck!
