To JTAG my Electron PS1900-CR I found this manual

It looks interesting only I don't understand a word of Polish.
Please can someone translate in English (or Dutch) so I can
bring my baby back to life.Any other help on how to JTAG is
very welcome.

What you need:

1. JTAG: You can use 3 types :
- JTAG interface by EPSILON ,smd without box -> you can see: http://www.epsilon.com.pl/cgibin/shop?show=prog, copnenction settings: http://epsilon.com.pl/support/jtag_cfg.htm

- JTAG ver.4 by Artech -> http://www.ar-tech.sote.pl/go/_info/?id=62

- JTAG created via scheme from Dynamite site. All what you need for this: 4 rezystory 100 ohm , jeden 33 ohm, 4 żółte ledy i jedna dioda 1N4148 . You can put this in BOX for DB25-pin parallel.

2. LPT cable ( D-Sub 25M/25F 1:1) -without crossing if you use JTAG Artechu 25F/25F

3. COM cable - null modem ( it's my sugestion - maybe you don't need this...)

4. Zasilacz - dopasowany do JTAGa

I think, better is JTAG by Epsilon - always working correct.

Now - digital reciver...
I think, more users don't look inside.... so -> please look below




[b]FLASH READING - (with jKeys 2.9.10 program)
More info you can read in jKeys-2.9.10 txt files -> my simple propose - read this !

Period I.

After open, front reciver to you. In the half a mainboard you can see JTAG pin. It's like this:

JTAG tape you must connect with red site to ">" sign on mainboard. You can see this there. But cables in plug-in go out on second site via sign (look in second photo). If you connect not correct, Jkeys don't identyfi processor and you can doing nothing. As a JTAG AC adapter I use external AC adatper (10V), You can use power from mainboard, but I don't try this. This is digital receiver with connected JTAG.



1.Digial receiver is disablen from back . We must connect to JTAG zwith comp by LPT cable. I'm connecting digital reciever in second cable -> is serial cable. SECOND: First please connect your hand to the reciver box. JTAG connectin please connect to receiver mainboard. Now JTAG power.
2.OK - SECOND: now turn on receiver power on back swith on - with connected JTAG you can see "8888" on display. next - turn on JKEYS, please click "DETECT" - program must detect processor. If not: �bad connection for JTAG - ID =0xFFFFFF, with ID = 0x000000 wrong power connection for digital reciever. you can close and open all programs few times. On my program first read it's like this: Device ID 0xD405041, Device:STI5518MVB-X. For IRD section it's impossible for changes. In Save Memory section you can see other information. JTAG ចចចចចចចុររ "FlashProgramming" normally don't correct found flash and show "ID=ffffffff". Then you must close window, and open - few times.... If found correct: (on my receiver):

Part 29LV160DT,
Manufac... = ST Micro,
Mfg/Device 20/22C4,
Base Adres 7FF80000,
Size 200000,
Width 16bits,
Delta 2
Offset = 0.

Change Basse Adres to 7FE00000 (VERY IMPORTANT!) SIZE 200000 ន and please click DETECT (for reading this adress). Now you can doing all what you need with flash - read, erase, write. Click READ (program ask you about filename), after read write on this filename. If write correct, then you can see OK. If you don't need to doing something more, next - turn off digital receiver, JTAG power, and switch off all cables. Correct files size is 2048KB. That, what you read, please don't delette - always you can write this to receiver again.

Finish Perion I.

Period II.

After changes you can ho to flash programming. File can't be bigger like 2 Mb - biggest files you don't program . Cables and procedures like in Period I. If program second time correct read flesh, change write adress again to 7FE00000. and click ERASE. Second WRITE, select file and when he ask you about file size - please click - yes. After flashing you see info, and that's all. You can see error with flash programming - then you must doing erase and write again. After all - turn off all.

ATTENTION: All what you read before this is ONLY FOR JTAG from Epsilon. If you have Artech JTAG, you can try:
Swith on FTA channel, next - turn off by remote control, and (as last) turn off back site swither. Connect all (JTAG). Turn on digital receiver, wait for starting on last FTA chanell. Turn on jKeys - he must detect processor, and show "8 8 8 8". Second - like in Epsilon JTAG.
If it's not first time for you, you can know start adress. Please write this adress in Save Memory in options START - flash now be detect faster.
For flash reading you can use other programs (ex. PIONERO).
