power supply socket in dvb s2 pci card?

can anybody please tell me why there is provision of power supply socket beside ci socket in my skystar hd2 dvb s2 card?

Yes it adds additional power needed for the LNB's and or DiSEqC Router.
It's there to prevent damage to the Card / Mainboard by over drawing the power off the PCI Slot. You should set the Power Connector in place. Esp. if you happen to use the Router.
