An endless walk
Walking on this path of sorrow
A journey
As it seems
Without a destination
Only a darkened view
Surrounded by a fog
Existing of spectres
Haunting me,trying to hold me
In this endless loop
Of darkened memories
I tried to burn the past
But I can still see the ashes
Choking me, blinding me
Untill I only have left
My own darkened thoughts
Will this walk ever end?
Or will I keep destroying myself..
As you have tried in the past
Is this my..
Darkened fate?

Popularity is the crown of laurel which the world puts on bad art. Whatever is popular is wrong.

Hi Chrissie, I see you've got a thing for writing poetry
Thought I'd share one of mine with you
Dreams
Dreams, like rivers, in my head
Channelled through my restless bed
Always flowing, constant change
Sometimes peaceful, often strange
Dreams of darkness, falling back
Into realms of inky black
Deep, depressing, lifeless, cold
Sunken, cowering, shrivelled, old
Dreams of sunshine, bright as day
Buoyant, joyful, full of play
Thrilling, chasing, vibrant fun
Smiling, happy, woe outdone
Swirls and eddies, twists of love,
Friendship, passion, hand in glove,
Slips to failure, loss and pain
And twists around to love again

Sorry I saw this so late, but like WOW! awesome! I loved every bit of it![]()
Not finished yet:
Pain and deceit
Sorrow and lies
And in the centre of that
You, with all your acts against me
Just leave me alone..
And take my memories with you
I hate you so much
But I love you even more..
I can't say goodbye
To the person you were
And I can't embrace
The person you have become..
Poetry is indispensable - if I only knew what for.
Jean Cocteau (1889-1963), French author, filmmaker.

Here's a little ditty I wrote for you
(hope you like it)
I met a girl named Chrissie, she really was so pretty
I thought I’d like to take her, (For a night out in the city)
But alas, my thoughts forlorn, another love she still did mourn
And though she bravely smiled at me, I knew her heart was torn
So waited me a while, and thought, how can I help this maid distraught?
How can I calm her aching heart, and soothe her passion overwrought?
I thought I’d try some poetry, (Though better minds might disagree)
My hope, the words might somehow help, her heart at last to free
And so I wrote this down in haste, my words in rhyme, so quickly placed
Is this the key, to find in me, her lover lost, replaced ?
Alas I know, when this has ended, and my poem is expended
Unhappily, she won’t want me, when her heart is mended
But still, I know it’s all worthwhile, if the slight artistic style
of what I write & post on here, can make young Chrissie smile.

Was There No Truth to Your Beauty?
Was there no truth to your beauty?
What of the lies your beauty told me?
Was your beauty all that there was to see?
Did I not make your beauty part of me?
Your beauty that shone like a beacon in a crowd!
Your beauty that veiled my senses in a shroud!
Your beauty, which deterred seeing your person?
Was your beauty not more… a gilded prison?
But time unyielding holds your beauty as hostage,
It acts on your beauty, displaying its ravage.
Your beauty so idly fears that it may lose its face.
Each passing year sends your beauty to its resting place.
Should you once beg of age to have mercy on your beauty,
Just recall what little mercy your beauty had on me.
