Vantage 8000s and NDS3 Videoguard.. NO GO :-(

Hello

I have a new 8000s and a subscription to Viasat (sweden).
In all forums the message has been that with the emu firmware viasat using videoguard should be working fine (and it does work for others).

However i have received a new card from Visat (new subscription) and it does not work.

The card work in the viasat receiver but not in vantage 8000s (scrambled program)...
using 02.47.01T-O

I think that the IRD number should be the box-id of the viasat box, but as you see there is "0" instead.. Others seems to have a string of numbers.

After digging into this and getting responses from different forums the best idea seems to be that i have received a new NDS3 card.
Being new to satellite etc not sure exactly what that means.
Is this some new coding/encryption version? And is this something that might be supported via the emu software soon?
Any hints on what can be done and could it be the correct conclusion that it's an NDS3 card?

I can tell you that you have a new card that starts in a short series of 016, so it is a NDS3 cards. I think Vantage option firmware had boxid as AU, but now it does not work any more when Viasat Nordic has launched NDS3 card ..

It should be able to fix because there is no communication between card and receiver as it has happened to the German Premiere, which stopped working ...

But it is a question of patch-team is willing to fix Viasat Nordic card when demand is not great ...

Even if demand is not great i would be extremely happy if someone could fix this, i'll even pay for it to be fixed or send the card anywhere...

The bad thing is if that i don't know if i should wait or get the viasat receiver with HD... E.g. if this has any change of getting fixed..

We'll see about secret people behind the EMU firmware can fix Viasat NDS3 card to the next EMU firmware. One can only hope and know that it is because Vantage works with Premiere, and S * y Italia which has NDS3 card.

Then, it is almost impossible to watch HD channels in Viasat because it is chippairing and can only just decode in Viasat's own HD tuner. Vantage, Dreambox and cam Dragon / T-Rex can decode SD channels on Viasat.

But it is worth looking at these 5 HD channels? No, I do not think we should boycott Viasat because they are alone to have chippairing across Europe!

Well even if HD would be nice i care most for the Viasat channels showing Champions League, F1 and other sports, unfortynatley you have to pay for a lot of other channels to get these but what can you do when you want to see sports...

If it does work with other NDS 3 cards, then i'm more hopefull...

So is there any way to report this to the people behind the EMU software or are they reading this forum?

In the latest Vantage firmware you can enter the IRD serial no. Can someone tell me what format this is ? Do I just enter the box serial no ? This did not work for me (you cannot enter as hex as only numbers can be input).

Because Viasat BoxID is 11 number long, should you leave first number out.
For example: Your BoxID is 01122334455 try input 1122334455
You can convert this 10-digit BoxID to HEX and try to input it.
It might be that Vantage-emu does converting itself??

This 10-digit input worked in some older emus in various receivers...

Please, correct if I'm wrong.
