Kick in a box - Com Port Open Error

Hi guys,

This is getting very frustrating for me. My appologies if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

I've had a Humax IRCI-5400Z for a while, but only recently put up a dish, so now I need to bring all the software up to date. I have managed to update the HoT to 11.1, I have updated the channel list using HNFSmart, but I am running into problems with the final step... the keys. I am using Kick in a box and I have downloaded the latest keys. I connect the STB, turn it on, then I press "From File", load the file and then press "Yes" to send to the STB. Then it says at the bottom Writing to Ram. When that's finished it changes into "Reading from Ram", but it gives an error "Com Port Open Error"

The computer is a desktop with a proper serial port and a null-model cable. All the other updates (HNFSmart, HDFSmart) work except for Kick in a box.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: What encrypted channels should I expect to be opened (on Hotbird) when I test if the keys have been properly loaded?

when you sending key close all running program (like HNF smart HDF smart) if still same then restart pc then try again if still same then delete KIAB and install again

Thanks for your reply. In the meantime I managed to get it working by reseting the ports. Like you said it was probably a conflict somewhere.
