Hi, I am new to this forum but have been interested in satellite tv for many years.

Could somebody answer a rather basic question about the Skystar2 please?

I have installed the vplug prog and can receive nagra channels at 1 deg W. Are there any other channels which can be unencrypted these days or is the nagra system the only one left?

Should I install any other prog like s2emu ? If so is it easy to install.

it can be setup for use as a cardsharing system.

AFAIK: The only thing(s) open at the moment are...

RCS DigiTV (Nagra2) on 0.8°w/1.0°w
Arqiva (Cryptpworks) on 4.8°e
and
Kabel Deutschland (Nagra2) on 23.5°e (DVB-S2)
So that would mean using a Skystar HD or HD2. Personaly of the two I'd recomend the former i.e. the Skystar HD. But, thats just my 00.02 Linux Cents. Both cards should work equaly well under Windows though...
